Submit a piece
Liberal Briefs welcomes guest essays from researchers, practitioners, and public thinkers whose work offers original insight into the complex dynamics shaping our world. We seek contributions that combine intellectual rigour with clarity of argument, and that challenge readers to think critically about issues at the intersection of geopolitics, public policy, technological transformation, and democratic resilience.
Guest essays should be:
Argument-driven: Essays must present a clear, well-reasoned thesis supported by evidence or professional expertise.
Analytical, not reactive: We prioritise pieces that contribute to enduring understanding over short-lived responses to the news cycle.
Grounded in research: Citations from academic sources, publications of record, and primary data are strongly encouraged.
Thoughtfully written: Lucid, precise, and stylistically engaging writing is essential.
We especially invite contributions from individuals whose research, commentary, or public work has been referenced in Liberal Briefs' original analysis.
Word count: Submissions should be approximately 1,000 words. Essays may be slightly shorter or longer depending on subject matter and depth.
Exclusivity: All submissions must be original and unpublished elsewhere, including personal blogs or newsletters. Simultaneous submission to multiple publishers is not welcome.
Fact-checking: Contributors are expected to verify all factual claims prior to submission. If selected for publication, we may request an annotated version indicating sources for key assertions. We also encourage an APA style list of sources and respective links to be submitted with the piece.
